Dear blog readers,

If you have been following my blog, you would know that the early journey of my trying to conceive experience was not easy. But we made it at our first IVF attempt. Yes, we were very lucky. I am grateful for the wonderful support from my family, friends and KL Fertility Centre. I started my new job recently. With morning sickness almost gone, i was beyond thrilled. Everything was going well until the morning of 22/01/2012. I had massive blood in my urine :(

Hubby, my mother and me rushed to DSH Emergency room. The Doc did the urine test, no infection but noted the blood. I was refered to the gynae on call, Dr Masziah since it was the CNY holiday weekend. She did a scan, saw that baby was ok with heartbeat but noted a small wound outside my uterus which caused the bleeding. My case was classified as 'threatened miscarriage'. I was shattered. My whole body was weak. But somehow, my baby gave me the strength to be ok. Dr Masziah advised that i stayed in the hospital for 24 hours so that she could monitor the wound. I desperately wanted to speak to Dr Prashant but it was a holiday weekend :( So i dropped him an email and inform Nurse S of what happened.

I was given a jab on my butt, called Proluton and was given Primalet supplements. Personally, my review on DSH was not satisfactory. The service was slow. It took forever to get my single room, the room is very tired looking, the ward is quite noisy and the service to get our billings done took forever. This was my first experience in DSH maternity ward but I dont think i ever want to go there again. I couldnt even get a good night sleep. At 630am, someone knocked to give more hot water, at 7am, someone knocked to serve breakfast, at 730am someone knocked to change the bedsheet and at 8am another person knocked to clean the room. I don't mind the Nurses who came in every 2 hours to check on my blood pressure and body temperature in the middle of the night but the others were too much. So we have crossed DSH out of our list. I hope I will have a good experience at Pantai.

Dr Masziah is ok but not as convincing as Dr Prashant. I was worried sick until we received a phone call from Dr Prashant on Monday, 23/01/2012 who assured us that everything sounds on track. So when i was discharged from DSH, i straight away went to see Dr Prashant for another scan. Just to be sure. And yes, i got a week of MC from Dr Masziah.

So we went to see Dr Prashant today. Baby is almost 15cm now with good heartbeat of 160bpm. Thank God. The wound outside my uterus is almost healed. So i still need my bedrest for the rest of the week. I have agreed with Dr Prashant that I will continue to see him if I need to but I am going to try Dr Premitha from Pantai Hospital in 2/3 weeks time. I feel sad today, it is not easy to say good bye to Dr Prashant and his team. But we will be back. My baby needs his/her siblings. I have 3 more embryos in Dr P's lab! So we will be back :)

Picture: This is my doctor, Dato Dr Prashant Nadkarni. i just realised i wrote a lot about him but no picture! I will start googling Dr Premitha next ;)

In summary, the pregnancy scare teaches me to be extra careful. I should not only think of myself but also my baby. The caused of the bleeding could be because i had to carry 8/10kgs worth of stuffs recently for an older lady. I only wanted to help but i guess i have to be more careful now. For my baby's sake. Thank you for reading :)

Baby and Mummy are doing good!

Dear blog readers,

Thank you for still reading my blog. I have been missing for quite awhile. Mainly because i was coping with my evening sickness which was quite bad. I am now almost over the nausea period, thank God. We ended our first trimester by paying a visit to Dr Raman at FMGC for the 12 weeks scan - Nuchal Scan and the Pre-ecplampsia test. We enjoyed the visit for many reasons. They are mainly:

1) The clinic is near our house, Jaya1 is only 10 minutes away.
2) Dr Raman is super nice. And very2 professional and smart.
3) Dr Raman is Dr Prashant's lecturer! I know, wow!
4) The first Doctor who took my blood and i hardly felt any pain
5) Of course, we got to see our baby in action 3D image Yo!

Picture 1: Our Angel sucking his/her thumb :)
Picture 2: Our Angel showing off his/her body :)

The only cons of FMGC is they forgot to take my blood pressure. So i had to go back to the clinic so that they could check my blood pressure. But Dr Raman was quick to see us and he remembered me! How nice, after 2 weeks! I was honoured :) I thought about taking him as my Gynae but from what I heard, he normally takes high risk pregnancy and normally prefers Caesar Delivery. At this stage, i want to keep my options open. Therefore, the search for gynae is still on!If you have any suggestion, please share :)

We got our results recently. Thank God we are categorised as the low risk group. We still have a long way to go but overall, we looked forward to the second trimester. Thank you for reading, i hope you are well...where ever you are! Take care!
