I had a smooth delivery, 10 mins of pushing and Baby A was born :) I will write more of my experience soon. For now, im still adjusting to our new life. I love being a mother and I hope my son will have 2/3 siblings to play with. Welcome to the world my IVF baby.

Thank you Dr Prashant and the KL Fertility gang.

Thank you Dr Premitha and the Pantai Hosp gang.

And thank you my dear readers for reading. Most important of all, thank you to my husband who was there with me throughout the whole process. You gave me the strength to go through an experience which i thought i couldn't handle. I love you and I love our son.

37 weeks +++

Hello :) I am still pregnant and counting days until I could meet my son. I have been blessed with an ok pregnancy so far but this week, I've started going on MC. My baby is quite small ie at 2.5 kgs now when he should be around 2.9kgs and my water level is low. So I'm gonna be staying at home and drink plenty of water. I'm very worried of his health but I know worrying won't help either one of us. So ive started drinking more and more now :) I hope my son will come out sometimes next week. But the decision is his. I'll try to talk to him slowly :) I just met Dr Premitha last Fri but I will need to come and see her tomorrow as well since my water level is low. Thank u all for reading and I hope everyone is coping ok. Life is a mystery but one thing for sure, it I an adventure.

35 weeks +++

I am now a happy patient of Dr Premitha again! I called the hospital before each visit to ensure no long wait. So far, less than 15 mins wait! Hooorayyyy :) I'm feeling soooo heavy now. There are days I couldn't even walk without the help from hubby. I've put on 12 kgs of extra weight to date. Hopefully I won't put on too much more...5 more weeks to go! So much to do, so lil time...hopefully all will go well. Tomorrow we are going to get the cot and start to assemble the cot :) I can't wait!!! Have a good weekend everyone!

32 Weeks +++

Amazing! In less than 10 mins, I got to see the Dr today. Thanks to the nurse in charge who called me to let me know the best time to come. Today, we saw our son's hair! Yes he is not bald hehe. And he is 1.8 kgs now. I've gained 0.5 kg since my last visit to see Dr Premitha 3 weeks ago. Total weight gain to date is 10kgs! I experienced the contraction like pain twice today. OMG they were painful! But the breathing technique works. The pain only lasted for about 30 secs. Hmmmmm.... I can't wait to hold my son. We have his car seat and changing mat ready now though his cot is not up yet. I'll wait until I'm about 36 weeks for that ;) hubby almost dances when he talks about his son. The joy of expecting your first child is amazing. once in awhile, I think about our frozen eggs in the lab....my babies are in the lab. I hope they too are doing ok....

31 weeks +++

Hello, I am officially in my third trimester now. I recently visited Dr Premitha at 29 weeks pregnant and waited 2 hours and 45 minutes to see her. It was horrible. I felt like giving up. I am not sure if the wait is worth my time. Even with appointment, I had to wait that long :( Anyway, at 30 weeks, I went to FMGC to see Dr Rahman for an additional check for second opinion. All looks good but of course, I didn't get to see my baby's face. He is a placenta kisser, per Dr Raman. Well, as long as he is well and healthy, I'm happy. My baby weighs 1.53kg at 30 weeks. Quite heavy! I'm going to see Dr Premitha for my 32 weeks checkup soon. I hope the wait will not be too long this time. My coccyx pain is still there...ive been feeling really tired lately, hence no time and mood to blog. But I'll try my best to update once in awhile. And oh, hubby bought a new car for the baby :) we now have a seven seater car! It is obvious hubby wants a big family but let's take it slow for now k :) Till next time!

26 weeks

The waiting time at Pantai was horrendous today, 1.5 hours to be exact! Thank God baby is doing good. Dr Premitha has suggested that I go for antenatal classes soon. I've now registered for the classes. Other than that, my visit to Pantai has been increased to once every 3 weeks. That is good because I get to see my baby more frequently. Until now, I still haven't seen his face! :( I received an email from Dr Prashant asking how am I doing. How nice of him! Thanks Doc for checking. If only he can be the one who helps me to deliver... Anyway, to date, my only complication is coccyx pain. I have trouble sitting down as my tailbone hurts badly when it touches any type of surface. I have been referred to see Dr Kok, an orthopedic at Pantai. He told me nothing can be done since I am pregnant. The pain in unusual but it is probably the side effect of me falling from a one story building 11 years ago ;) I am now using a rubber ring and a massive nursing pillow to sit on any type of chairs. Now I know that it is tough being a mother ;) I now look forward to my 29 weeks app as I am now officially in my third trimester. Thank you God for this wonderful experience!

At 24 weeks +++

Just a quick entry...we went for a 3D scan at FMGC. I was hoping to see Dr Rahman, but he was not around. Hence, we went to see Dr Patrick.

Good news - Baby is healthy :) and 220gram overweight for his age :D

Bad news - Mummy didnt get to see his face because he was busy scratching his bum and holding his penis! Oh boy ;) Per Dr Patrick, this is the second time in his career as a doc to see a baby in such position. Dont blame me, ask the father! :D

I now look forward to see Dr Premitha for my 26 weeks appointment. As for myself, i am huge now! Baby is gaining weight, so am i! To date, no scratchmarks...i have been applying L'occitane Skin Oil every day without fail :)

Have a good weekend!

At 22 weeks +++

Yes, the baby is still a boy :)

At 5.5 months pregnant, I've gained 5 kgs pre pregnancy. On track so far. My yoga classes have been a great help to my cramp though it is not 100% gone. I guess the expanding boobs and tummy are putting so much weight on my small frame :( other than that, I'm thankful for the wonderful health to date.

Work has been crazy, I have 4 months before my EDD and I'm starting to feel nervous with the preparation. So I bought a new dress from Poplook yesterday. Hopefully it fits my pregnant body well ;) I'm gonna order the car seat soon. We have decided to order most of the baby stuffs from the uk and the states. Cheaper than Malaysia :) if only I have the time to browse the net...Haish...

I'm going for my 3 D scan soon. I hope to get some nice shot of my son :)I'll keep you ladies posted on my progress. Btw Nurse H from KL Fertility has left the practice. So sad but the rest of the wonderful team is still there :)

Take care everyone!

At 18+++ weeks

Hello hello :)

Alhamdulillah, we made it to the 18 weeks. Hubby and I went to see Dr Premitha for the first time at Pantai Hospital. I feel more comfortable at Pantai than DSH. So now it is the Doc. Dr Prashant thinks Dr Premitha is a good choice. Plus, they were once partners at Dr Prashant's practice before Dr Premitha moved to Pantai. A few if my friends recommended us to see Dr Premitha. So off we went to see her :)

Hubby likes her. Me? I like her too. She took her time with us, no rush and she explains well. She scanned my tummy in detail and provided the videos with the pictures in a DVD without even me asking for one :) she cares about my weight, so that is good! Same thinking as my mom, I think my mom will like her too! She thinks I can only gain a max of 13kgs throughout my pregnancy since I have a very small frame. So noted! :) most important of all, my baby is doing great. The baby is growing well and the baby has a big head since the head is the size of a 19 weeks baby! But per Dr Premitha, that is ok and by the next visit, the body will catch up and the head will grow at a slower rate.

Gender? :) hubby was in tears as the doctor made an announcement that our first born is a BOY, insyaAllah. Wow! I'm the eldest and I am girl. On my husband's side, all firstborn is a girl. So for the first time in the immediate family, the first born is a boy :) I am so excited! I am already in love with my son!!!! Dr Premitha was 100% confident that it is a boy since the balls and penis are very obvious. Our baby was showing off his body with full confidence :) i am grateful to God because so far, after what I have gone through, my baby is in pink of health and I hope he will stay that way until the full term, insyaAllah!

Our next visit to see Dr Premitha is in 4 weeks. She supplied us with some supplements which include calcium since my teeth need some extra help ;) my boy is absorbing most of my calcium!!!! Cost of our visit at Pantai is FOC, hooray! Not sure since my company is paying 100% of our medical bills, thank God!

I have emailed Dr Prashant and the gang at KL Fertility of the good news and Dr Prashant was happy with the news too! I cannot wait to see my baby and bring him out to see the world! Thank you all for reading :) I hope my story gives you hope that you too can have a child of your own, some day!

At 15 weeks

Dear blog readers,

If you have been following my blog, you would know that the early journey of my trying to conceive experience was not easy. But we made it at our first IVF attempt. Yes, we were very lucky. I am grateful for the wonderful support from my family, friends and KL Fertility Centre. I started my new job recently. With morning sickness almost gone, i was beyond thrilled. Everything was going well until the morning of 22/01/2012. I had massive blood in my urine :(

Hubby, my mother and me rushed to DSH Emergency room. The Doc did the urine test, no infection but noted the blood. I was refered to the gynae on call, Dr Masziah since it was the CNY holiday weekend. She did a scan, saw that baby was ok with heartbeat but noted a small wound outside my uterus which caused the bleeding. My case was classified as 'threatened miscarriage'. I was shattered. My whole body was weak. But somehow, my baby gave me the strength to be ok. Dr Masziah advised that i stayed in the hospital for 24 hours so that she could monitor the wound. I desperately wanted to speak to Dr Prashant but it was a holiday weekend :( So i dropped him an email and inform Nurse S of what happened.

I was given a jab on my butt, called Proluton and was given Primalet supplements. Personally, my review on DSH was not satisfactory. The service was slow. It took forever to get my single room, the room is very tired looking, the ward is quite noisy and the service to get our billings done took forever. This was my first experience in DSH maternity ward but I dont think i ever want to go there again. I couldnt even get a good night sleep. At 630am, someone knocked to give more hot water, at 7am, someone knocked to serve breakfast, at 730am someone knocked to change the bedsheet and at 8am another person knocked to clean the room. I don't mind the Nurses who came in every 2 hours to check on my blood pressure and body temperature in the middle of the night but the others were too much. So we have crossed DSH out of our list. I hope I will have a good experience at Pantai.

Dr Masziah is ok but not as convincing as Dr Prashant. I was worried sick until we received a phone call from Dr Prashant on Monday, 23/01/2012 who assured us that everything sounds on track. So when i was discharged from DSH, i straight away went to see Dr Prashant for another scan. Just to be sure. And yes, i got a week of MC from Dr Masziah.

So we went to see Dr Prashant today. Baby is almost 15cm now with good heartbeat of 160bpm. Thank God. The wound outside my uterus is almost healed. So i still need my bedrest for the rest of the week. I have agreed with Dr Prashant that I will continue to see him if I need to but I am going to try Dr Premitha from Pantai Hospital in 2/3 weeks time. I feel sad today, it is not easy to say good bye to Dr Prashant and his team. But we will be back. My baby needs his/her siblings. I have 3 more embryos in Dr P's lab! So we will be back :)

Picture: This is my doctor, Dato Dr Prashant Nadkarni. i just realised i wrote a lot about him but no picture! I will start googling Dr Premitha next ;)

In summary, the pregnancy scare teaches me to be extra careful. I should not only think of myself but also my baby. The caused of the bleeding could be because i had to carry 8/10kgs worth of stuffs recently for an older lady. I only wanted to help but i guess i have to be more careful now. For my baby's sake. Thank you for reading :)

Baby and Mummy are doing good!

At 12 weeks

Dear blog readers,

Thank you for still reading my blog. I have been missing for quite awhile. Mainly because i was coping with my evening sickness which was quite bad. I am now almost over the nausea period, thank God. We ended our first trimester by paying a visit to Dr Raman at FMGC for the 12 weeks scan - Nuchal Scan and the Pre-ecplampsia test. We enjoyed the visit for many reasons. They are mainly:

1) The clinic is near our house, Jaya1 is only 10 minutes away.
2) Dr Raman is super nice. And very2 professional and smart.
3) Dr Raman is Dr Prashant's lecturer! I know, wow!
4) The first Doctor who took my blood and i hardly felt any pain
5) Of course, we got to see our baby in action 3D image Yo!

 Picture 1: Our Angel sucking his/her thumb :)
Picture 2: Our Angel showing off his/her body :)

The only cons of FMGC is they forgot to take my blood pressure. So i had to go back to the clinic so that they could check my blood pressure. But Dr Raman was quick to see us and he remembered me! How nice, after 2 weeks! I was honoured :) I thought about taking him as my Gynae but from what I heard, he normally takes high risk pregnancy and normally prefers Caesar Delivery. At this stage, i want to keep my options open. Therefore, the search for gynae is still on!If you have any suggestion, please share :)

We got our results recently. Thank God we are categorised as the low risk group. We still have a long way to go but overall, we looked forward to the second trimester. Thank you for reading, i hope you are well...where ever you are! Take care!
